Greear Webb

Greear Webb is a warrior for justice who cares deeply about lessening North Carolina’s racial divide and elevating the power of America’s youth.

A native of Raleigh, North Carolina, Greear is currently a junior Morehead-Cain Scholar at UNC-Chapel Hill where he double majors in Political Science and African, African American, and Diaspora Studies (AAAD). He also minors in Social and Economic Justice, viewing these studies as a way to expand his knowledge base as he grows as an advocate for equity and truth. Greear is the co-founder of the NC Town Hall and Young Americans Protest (YAP!)—two youth-driven nonprofits, and is the immediate past co-chair of UNC-CH’s Black Student Movement Political Action Committee (BSM PAC).

Greear is a faithful product of Wake County Public Schools, spending his time from kindergarten to 12th grade in the system and often crediting his teachers with empowering and motivating him to continue fighting for the most marginalized among us. Greear focuses on issues like increasing the representation of student voices in the education space, gun violence prevention, and police accountability legislation as he constantly works to listen to diverse perspectives in hopes of fostering tangible and sustainable solutions.

Greear was selected as a 2020 Youth Voter Ambassador through Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education and currently serves on the City of Raleigh\’s Police Advisory Board, as well as on NC Governor Roy Cooper’s statewide Crime Commission. In 2021, he was honored as the first-ever recipient of the Triangle MLK Committee\’s John Lewis Student Activist award. Most recently, he completed a summer internship at the United States Black Chambers, Inc. (USBC) in Washington, D.C. where he served as the youngest intern in the organization\’s history. Greear studied American economic policy and assisted in furthering USBC’s mission as “The National Voice for Black Business.” Greear knows our diversity as people is our strength, and that representation at all levels of society matters. He is a passionate leader always eager to learn, and destined to make change.
