Billie Redmond is a native North Carolinian and successful business and community leader with a passion for giving back.
Billie Redmond is the founder of TradeMark Properties, a North Carolina-based property management, leasing, and brokerage services company that has served the Triangle for more than 30 years.
Billie grew up in the small textile town of Eden, North Carolina before attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to study business. She began her career in real estate as a property manager for Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston. In 1984 she founded TradeMark Properties, which is now one of the largest commercial real estate firms in North Carolina.
Billie has received numerous awards honoring her success in business as well as her contributions to community nonprofit organizations. In 2016 the Triangle Business Journal named her one of the Top 20 CEO’s in the Triangle. She also received the Pillar Award at the 2015 Space Awards and the Triangle Business Journal Legacy Award, which recognizes leaders who have helped shape the Triangle through their business and community endeavors. Billie was the first woman to receive the prestigious TCREW Impact Award and she was also inducted into the YWCA’s Academy of Women.
Billie’s history of community involvement is extensive. She served ten years on the WakeMed Health and Hospital’s Board of Directors and she served an unprecedented extended term as chair of the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce. She co-chaired the Wake County Citizens Facility Advisory Committee, which was charged with evaluating the WCPSS Capital Improvement Program. She has served on the Board for many organizations, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Eastern NC, the Triangle Community Foundation, and Habitat for Humanity.
In 2017, Billie served on the Board of Directors of Paragon Commercial Bank and the Carolina Hurricanes Kid’s n Community Foundation. She was also Chair of the Governor and General Assembly appointed Education and Workforce Innovation Commission, focused on educational transformation across North Carolina. The Commission fosters innovation in North Carolina schools through grants, awarded for the development of successful partnerships, pathways, and systems that lead to more students graduating college and career ready.
