Gordon Brown

Gordon Brown serves as Chief Financial Officer, a shareholder, and a board member at Alfred Williams & Company in Raleigh. In addition to his success in business, Gordon has a long track record of service in support of Wake County children and schools through his leadership and with the Boys & Girls Clubs serving Wake County and WakeEd Partnership.

Gordon was born in Raleigh and attended Stough Elementary School, Washington Sixth-Grade Center, Martin Middle School, and Athens Drive High School, graduating in 1986. He earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Accountancy degrees at UNC-Chapel Hill in 1991 and later worked as a senior manager at Ernst & Young LLP and Nortel before joining Alfred Williams & Company in 2005.

Gordon became actively involved with WakeEd Partnership in the mid-1990s as a member of the planning committee for Pieces of Gold, an annual production highlighting students engaged in the arts in the Wake County Public School System. He was a board member and executive committee member for more than two decades, chair of the finance and Quality Matters committees, and chairman of WakeEd Partnership for two terms. He currently serves a member of the WakeEd Partnership Leadership Council. Additionally, Gordon served on the steering committee of the Friends of Wake County as they advocated for two Wake County school bond initiatives.

Gordon has also been a board member of the Wake County Boys and Girls Clubs since 1998, where he has served as chairman, finance chair, resource development chair, and secretary. He has served on the Wake County Public Schools’ external audit committee; as treasurer of the Broughton High School Capital Foundation; as chairman of the Board of Trustees and an executive committee member for nine years at Glenaire, a continuing care retirement community in Cary; and on the Board of Trustees of The Presbyterian Homes in High Point. Gordon also has served as an elder and deacon at First Presbyterian Church of Raleigh, where he has been an active member since 1997.

Gordon and his wife, Lisa, have three daughters who graduated from the Wake County Public School System and one son in the 10th grade at Broughton High School.
