Victoria Scott-Miller is a Raleigh-based entrepreneur, author, and cognitive giant. She is also the owner of the trailblazing, independent, globally recognized Liberation Station Bookstore, specializing in children’s literature.

Liberation Station has been spotlighted in numerous media outlets, including The Washington Post, Good Morning America, Oprah Magazine, and CNN. As an innovator, liberation strategist, and literacy advocate, Victoria believes in the power of community and creates initiatives that promote legacy building, generational safekeeping, and historical guardianship for marginalized voices.

Victoria is a visionary and champion for ensuring children of color learn to be the keepers of their own narratives. Additionally, she creates permanent infrastructure within community spaces such as Sarah P. Duke Gardens, The Durham Hotel, and The North Carolina Museum of Art to install her Black Lit Library concept which are safe reading spaces for children of color to explore topics on joy, hope, healing, love, and power. Since 2019, Liberation Station has experienced meteoric success and the realization of narrative protection and unearthing our stories inspired Victoria to begin a writing career as an author. Which includes genres in children’s literature, young adult readers, and novels.

In 2021, she was official signed to New York-based literary agency Serendipity Lit who have managed the careers of comedian, author, and activist Dick Gregory as well as award-winning New York Times best-selling author Derrick Barnes.

The North Carolina Museum of Art has also commissioned Victoria to author an upcoming children’s picture book that will explore the People’s Collection through the eyes of children and will release in October 2022. Victoria attributes her writing style and inspiration to her experiences growing up in Memphis, TN. When she is not championing the amplification of Black voices, she enjoys hiking, roller-skating, and visiting art museums with her husband Duane, nuclear-veteran, and creator of The Plural Podcast, their two sons Langston and Emerson.
